True Blue Windshield Tips & Tricks

These are some of our suggestions for keeping your windshield in tip top condition:

  1. Regularly clean your windshield: Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining your windshield’s visibility. Use a soft cloth or sponge, and a mild cleaning solution to wipe down your windshield. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the glass.

Suggested Cleaning Process:

a.) Use Meguiar’s Clay Bar

b.) Use Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound

c.) Finish with any glass cleaner you choose

  1. Avoid slamming doors: Slamming doors can cause vibrations that can damage your windshield. Be gentle when closing your car doors to avoid unnecessary stress on your windshield.
  1. Use quality wiper blades: Worn or damaged wiper blades can scratch your windshield’s surface, impairing your visibility. Replace your wiper blades regularly, and choose high-quality, durable blades that are designed for your vehicle. Additionally, avoid using your wiper blades on a dry windshield, as this can also cause damage.
  1. Don’t use hot water to defrost your windshield: Pouring hot water on your windshield to defrost it quickly can cause the glass to crack. Instead, use an ice scraper or a de-icer spray to gently remove the ice.
  1. Avoid using harsh chemicals near your windshield: When cleaning your car’s exterior, avoid using harsh chemicals near your windshield. These chemicals can damage the glass and cause discoloration or hazing.
